Thomas Minter

Human Resources Manager

B.S., Virginia State University

Thomas Minter came to Marshfield in 2022 with extensive human resources experience, having had stints at companies including Whole Foods Market, Citi Bike, the Trust for Public Land, and Capital Bikeshare. He holds certifications in Diversity and Inclusion in Global Enterprise and Human Resource Management, and his expertise extends to policy implementation and employee engagement.

Thomas’s passion for making things better for people is the primary reason he chose to work in HR.   He notes that the archetypal human resources department is thought of as helping employees with health and dental benefits and administrative issues, but he sees the role of HR as much larger than that. He prides himself on guiding his colleagues to understand and take advantage of the full complement of what the firm offers in terms of benefits and professional development opportunities. Indeed, he knows that every day he comes to work is an opportunity to improve the lives of his colleagues.

In addition to people, Thomas also has a passion for grilling – he owns four grills! Yes, four, and they each serve a different purpose (but you’ll have to ask him what they are). He enjoys working out and watching sports – mostly hockey and baseball. Being raised in a military family gave him the opportunity to live in many places (Buffalo, Kodiak, AK, New York City, California, Virginia, and Maryland) and led to his love of travel. In the past decade alone, he has traveled to Singapore, France, Dubai, Portugal, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Belize, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Honduras, and — an all-time favorite — Thailand.
