John Yanekian

IT Manager

B.S., Ain Shams University

John grew up a stone’s throw from the Great Pyramids of Egypt and Mount Sinai. Ask him about his home country and he’ll tell you that you absolutely must go to Egypt (and how much more modern Rome is in comparison).

After university in Cairo, opportunity took John to Cyprus for 8 years and then finally to the United States in 1996. He is grateful and proud that he has been able to build a good life in a country where he initially knew neither the land nor the people. John joined Marshfield in 2011 and today manages our data security and computer systems.  While always available and willing to help his colleagues, the most gratifying days at work for John are the ones when no one needs him to address a technology issue.

An avid photographer and hiker, his favorite hiking destination is Rocky Mountain National Park. He is equally committed to what some might see as a less tranquil pursuit: long-distance motorcycle riding. He initially became interested in motorcycle riding for the practical reason that he can use the HOV lanes to shorten his commute in a very congested Washington, DC region.  John discovered how much more of the world he could see on a motorcycle and became certified by long-distance riding’s governing body to ride 1,005 miles in 24 hours and 1,700 in 36.
